Chris Hein Horns Vol 1 from Best Service is a virtual instrument that features the alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, trumpet, trombone and trumpet sections. The software comes with a fully licensed copy of Native Instruments' KONTAKT player. A comprehensive selection of control features includes growl-control, air-control, keys-control, spit-control, dirty-notes, breath release-trigger, legato-mode and real-vibrato. Up to twenty velocity layers were recorded for each playing technique. Key-switching is employed to facilitate the use of the forty-four playing techniques, with the addition of thirty-five MIDI controllers that have been programmed for each instrument. It is the combination of these two features that helps provide an authenticity to the output of the instrument.
